You can never truly get bored with the “green clowns” of London’s parks. For me—as The Cool Parrot Girl—anywhere these bright birds gathered is a total paradise.

It’s one of the UK’s best-kept secrets. Whether you are in the heart of London, or coastal spots like Deal, Thanington, and Birchington, you’ll suddenly spot them: bright green parakeets darting through the trees. We have the palm trees and the parrots; it feels just like a tropical country… we’re just missing the hot weather! Which can be a blessing by the way….

A Moment of Pure Magic

The most incredible thing? These wild birds are often surprisingly friendly. There is no way to describe the pure happiness I feel as The Cool Parrot Girl when I’m in St. James’s Park and a parakeet lands right on my hand for a snack of apple. It’s a tiny miracle in the middle of the city.
