I can’t believe I never posted this design of mine. Chow chows are majestic beautiful dogs and I love them so much!!
There is something undeniably majestic about a Chow Chow. With their lion-like manes and stoic expressions, they carry an air of ancient dignity. Do you agree? But what happens when you pair that noble spirit with the soft, ethereal beauty of a Victorian wildflower garden?
Introducing my Redbubble : The Botanical Chow Chow.
The Inspiration
This design was born from a love of vintage natural history journals and the “Cottage core” aesthetic. I wanted to create a unique piece that felt like a hidden treasure found in the attic of an old estate—a delicate watercolour study of a loyal companion surrounded by the chaotic beauty of nature, wildflowers, butterflies and such.
Artistic Details
- The Palette: I used soft, beige-toned parchment backgrounds contrasted with vibrant pops of coral peonies, golden wildflowers, and a striking azure butterfly.
- The Style: Combining fine-line calligraphy and soft watercolor washes, this design balances the “fluff” of the Chow Chow with the delicate structure of botanical art.
- The Vibe: It’s nostalgic, peaceful, and a little bit magical, not overdoing it.
How to Style the Collection
Whether you’re a proud “Chow Mom” or just a fan of whimsical animal art, this collection is designed to fit seamlessly into a thoughtful lifestyle:
- For the Stationery Lover: Spiral Notebook is perfect for morning journaling or garden planning. The vintage script on the cover makes it feel like an heirloom.
- For the Explorer: The Tote Bag is a sturdy, stylish companion for farmers’ market runs or library trips.
- For the Home Decorator: Bring a touch of the outdoors in with a Framed Art Print. It looks stunning in a gallery wall alongside pressed flowers and vintage maps.
- For the Bold Fashionista: Make a statement with the A-Line Dress—a wearable piece of art that’s sure to start conversations.
- And more!!
